It was a real pleasure to chat with Amber Cunningham on ABC Perth Radio about our newly funded Psilocybin Efficacy and Acceptability on Cluster Headache Episodes (PEACE) study.
This exciting clinical trial — one of the first of its kind — will investigate whether psilocybin, the active compound found in certain mushrooms, can help prevent or reduce the frequency of cluster headache attacks.
Cluster headache is one of the most severe and disabling pain conditions known, often described as a sharp, drilling pain behind one eye. Despite its intensity, effective treatments are limited, and research in this area has long been overdue.
It was a very enjoyable and thoughtful conversation — thank you, Amber, for hosting me and helping raise awareness about this important research.
